Stability In Motion

Though we are in motion, we never waver. This is the focus of our 2018 annual report.

CCFW is evolving to reach our timeless mission: to provide service to those in need, to advocate compassion and justice in the structures of society, and to call all people of good will to do the same. We are moving towards the vision that anchors everything we do – ending poverty, one family at a time. As a result, we made great strides in 2018!

2018 HIGHLIGHTS:

We expanded our Rural Vocation services and, as a result, helped Sherri persist in her education.

“The last six years of my life have been the hardest, yet the most rewarding. I just want to stress what a huge blessing Catholic Charities has been for me and my educational journey. I will be graduating in May 2019. The gift of knowledge and education is something no one can ever take away from you. I will forever be grateful for that gift from Catholic Charities.” – Sherri Riley

Our Translation and Interpretation Network (TIN) paid almost $2 million in wages.

We operate our social enterprises to deliver a double bottom line – jobs/help for our clients plus a cash contribution to CCFW. Because of TIN, we generated more than $500,000 of unrestricted funding for our poverty solutions.

We began replicating our proven intervention, Stay the Course™, around the nation.

Stay the Course™ has produced statistically significant results. So, 2018 was time for us to take the next step – replicating the intervention to prove it will work in other communities. Last year, we joined with our first replication partner, Catholic Charities Fort Wayne-South Bend, to launch Stay the Course at Indiana’s Ivy Tech Community College.

Furthermore, we have selected three additional locations, planning to launch Stay the Course this fall!

We launched one of Fort Worth’s first children’s savings accounts programs, the Fort Worth Future Fund.

In partnership with Fort Worth ISD and EECU, the program aims to increase access to affordable higher education for local students.

The program provides a financial vehicle to promote saving and asset-building opportunities for low and moderate-income families.
